Top Democrat Defects to Trump

A major Democrat donor working in tech has abandoned Biden for Donald Trump. Citing the mounting numbers of problems in America, Trump is now the best option. America’s News Desk has the story:

Jacob Helberg, a tech adviser and a major donor to the Democratic Party, has reportedly joined an influx of wealthy donors who are opposing President Joe Biden in 2024 and supporting former president Donald Trump.

The tech adviser Helberg has contributed $1 million to Trump’s re-election campaign, making him one of the most significant financial supporters of the candidate’s November re-election bid.

Helberg used his wealth and influence to support Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s unsuccessful presidential campaign just four years ago.

“The social cost of supporting Trump isn’t as great as it was. Trump was right on a lot of make-or-break issues for America.” Helberg said.

Recently, a group of influential Silicon Valley executives, including Helberg, have warmed up to Trump.

Helberg has contributed $844,600 to the Trump 47 joint fundraising committee, bringing his total contribution to the Trump group to the attention of a select group of donors.

As of March, at least twenty others had also granted the group the limit, according to FEC documents examined by the Post.

Helberg and Trump hold similar views on several matters, with China being their primary area of agreement.

Recently, at Trump’s Florida resort Mar-a-Lago, the former president and his tech counsel bonded over the necessity of adopting an adversarial stance toward China on matters including trade, TikTok, and others.

Helberg’s inclination toward Trump is representative of a pattern among Democratic supporters who, disillusioned with Biden’s presidency, have reconsidered Trump and, given the circumstances, are of the opinion that he is favorable.

With more donors flocking to Trump every day, Biden’s chances look more glum. If a Democrat donor was willing to switch to Trump, chances are that average people are also.
