Donald Trump is challenging Biden to a debate, though on the condition that Biden gets drug tested before. Although Biden isn’t a suspected recreational drug user, the media has been wondering as to whether he is receiving drugs to improve his cognition and focus. America’s News Desk says:

Earlier in the week, during a rally in Wisconsin, former President Donald Trump made another call for debates with President Joe Biden, and this time he upped the ante, saying “anytime, any place” before pointing to an empty lectern on the stage for the president.

During the State of the Union, as President Biden began to mumble and slur his speech near the end of the night, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that the president’s medication to keep him cognizant had begun to wear off.

The Washington Times has some of Trump’s quotes:

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday said he wants to debate President Biden but that the Democrat better take a drug test first.

“I want to debate and I think debates, with him, at least, should be drug tested,” Mr. Trump said on radio’s Hugh Hewitt Show.

Asked whether he was suggesting Mr. Biden was using cocaine, Mr. Trump said he doesn’t “know what he’s using,” but the president “was higher than a kite” at the speech last month to a joint session of Congress.

“But he’s obviously, he’s being helped some way, because most of the time he looks like he’s falling asleep,” Mr. Trump said. “And all of a sudden, he walked up there and did a poor job. But he was all jacked up.”

America’s News Desk:

During the lead-up to the speech, some Democrats expressed fear about a potential “senior moment” from Joe Biden.

“We’re all on edge,” remarked a House Democrat to Axios, expressing worries about the 81-year-old Biden’s capability to articulate without mishaps.

During an interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur about his mishandling of classified documents, Joe Biden allegedly had several instances where he struggled to recall past events, including when his son died, and often relied on members of his staff to jog his memory.

Earlier in the week, the president claimed he did not issue an executive order proclaiming Easter Sunday to be Transgender Day of Visibility, which has led some to speculate about who is making the decisions in the White House.

While Trump is not in his youthful prime, he possesses a dramatic edge over Biden in off-the-cuff remarks which make him a powerful debater. Biden is no slouch if “focused”, but refusing a drug test could make him look “guilty” while taking and passing it would make him look like he has to listen to Trump.
