Donald Trump has been been taking shots at Robert DeNiro, who made an appearance outside the courthouse to scream about the former President. While Trump has been stuck in New York, he has made the most of it and hosted rallies in states that he might otherwise not win.
In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump has shown that he still has the vigor to call out Hollywood celebrities online. In fact, this skill is what propelled to fame on Twitter in the first place, and has made him beloved by his supporters. Fox News says:
“Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA.”
“Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there,” Trump said. “Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!”
The Biden campaign is reeling from a series of bad polls, now modeling that he is more likely to lose the general election. In an attempt to turn things around, it sent some surrogates to the courthouse to gain some press for Biden. Politico continues:
Much like Trump has done through part of the trial, Biden’s campaign team brought their own set of surrogates to parade before the mob of television cameras that have camped out outside the courthouse each day to hear from Trump’s allies.
Asked by a reporter why the president’s reelection campaign decided to hold an event at Trump’s trial, his communications director had a simple answer: “Because you all are here,” Michael Tyler said.
More than the media effect, however, is the actual result of the trial. The jury failed to reach a verdict after a day of deliberation, and this could keep going on for days. The longer the deliberation goes on, the greater Trump’s chances for a mistrial or a straight acquittal.
