Ron DeSantis has just announced that he will be ensuring Trump has the right to vote in Florida. Liberals were ecstatic when Trump was declared guilty by the Manhattan jury, thinking he would be banned from voting. However, De Santis had something to say about it. America’s News Desk says:

They may have been major rivals during the GOP primary, but Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump have once again joined together to take on a bigger threat.

Joe Biden, whose definition of “restoring unity” means jailing his politicalopponents and targeting their supporters.

DeSantis, a prolific fundraiser, announced that he is aiming to raise nearly $10 million during a multistate fundraising effort for the presumptive GOP nominee, writes NBC News.

“I think we believe Biden needs to be beat, and the governor is willing to put the sword down,” a top DeSantis adviser said. “They have had several good conversations as recently as last week.”

The fundraising events will begin as soon as July and likely run through September, the DeSantis adviser said, with multiple events expected in Texas, California and Washington.

The plan is to tap into states where DeSantis already had substantial donor networks from his own presidential bid to be able to quickly raise cash for Trump.

“It’s in places where there is existing infrastructure for stuff like this,” the DeSantis adviser said.

Earlier in the week, the Florida governor proved himself be one of the leading critics of Donald Trump’s sham trial in Manhattan. A former JAG office, DeSantis wrote

“Today’s verdict represents the culmination of a legal process that has been bent to the political will of the actors involved: a leftist prosecutor, a partisan judge and a jury reflective of one of the most liberal enclaves in America — all in an effort to‘get’ Donald Trump,” DeSantis posted on X.

That this case — involving alleged misdemeanor business records violations from nearly a decade ago — was even brought is a testament to the political debasement of the justice system in places like New York City. This is especially true considering this same district attorney routinely excuses criminal conduct in a way that has endangered law-abiding citizens in his jurisdiction.

It is often said that no one is above the law, but it is also true that no one is below the law. If the defendant were not Donald Trump, this case would never have been brought, the judge would have never issued similar rulings, and the jury would have never returned a guilty verdict. In America, the rule of law should be applied in a dispassionate, even-handed manner, not become captive to the political agenda of some kangaroo court.”

He also reassured the president that he will be able to vote this coming November. “Given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights per the Florida Clemency Board, which I chair,” he said on Twitter.com.

Critics of Trump had previously claimed that the former president would lose his right to vote as a convicted felon.

This is the first step in restoring Trump to the American presidency. His numbers are high among Republicans, though the fallout among Independents is currently unknown.
